About the Event:

As the digital world evolves rapidly, are we effectively leveraging these advancements to help governments fulfil their commitments to chemical and waste-related SDGs while staying context-sensitive and aligned with national priorities?

This event will explore, inter alia, how tools such as the InforMEA Global Goals and MEA Strategic Plans – Mapping Linkages section visualizes MEA contributions to SDGs, strengthening policy coherence, identify key data gaps in tracking SDG progress on chemicals and waste governance and discuss strategies for improving data collection and availability; foster discussion on how policymakers can enhance reporting, policy alignment, and collaboration through digital tools and legal frameworks; and highlight the role of MEAs in accelerating progress toward SDGs on chemicals and waste by 2030. This event is organised by the InforMEA Initiative, co-chaired by UNEP and CITES and brings together over 20 MEA Secretariats hosted by 5 UN organizations and IUCN, in addition to observers and partners .
